REVIEWING QAMARIA COFFEE – FULLTERTON CA

AMBIANCE:

ā€œIā€™m in love with Yemeni coffee and on a mission to share it with the world.ā€ Hatem Al-Eidaroos, Co-Founder

Qamaria Coffee, located in Fullerton, CA, is a coffee shop, sustainably sourced from Yemen. The coffee beans carry a traditional roast with flavors that are floral, fruity and nutty. They also have many traditional pastries and desserts with flavors that include rose, pistachio, cardamom and more. The ambiance is vibrant and busy, open late night, with beautiful traditional Yemeni decor around the restaurant.

QAMARIA LATTE:

Overall Rating: 5/5

This was their signature drink so we had to order it! The Qamaria Latte was one of the best coffee drinks I have ever had. This latte had a double shot of espresso and steamed milk with cardamom and cinnamon. The drink had a smooth (and strong!) espresso. There is quite a bit amount of sweetener in this drink, so feel free to ask them to adjust it according to your preference.

ADENI CHAI:

Overall Rating: 5/5

The Aden Chai Latte was a premium black tea with steamed milk, that’s topped with milk foam. The chai was served fresh and hot in a beautiful serving set. The chai had spices of cinnamon, cardamom, clove and more. The flavors and sweetener was perfect and a must try drink to share with friends.

ROSE MILK CAKE:

Overall Rating: 3/5

The rose milk cake was a beautiful pink milk cake, soaked in rose syrup and topped with cream and edible rose petals. Like some of the other desserts on the menu, this cake was beautiful and very aesthetically pleasing. The rose cake was full of flavor and delicious! I do wish there were less rose petals as a garnish or if they were crushed more finely as a topping.

CARAMEL MILK CAKE:

Overall Rating: 5/5

The caramel milk cake tasted like a classic Tres Leches cake. This cake was topped with cream and beautiful ribbons of caramel. The caramel and cream is the perfect pairing and definitely a dessert for those who have a sweet tooth. This cake was perfect to enjoy alongside the hot Adeni Chai.

PISTACHIO MILK CAKE:

Overall Rating: 4/5

The pistachio milk cake tasted of cardamom and pistachio syrup. The cake was very colorful with a crushed pistachio nut topping on top of cream. I wish the food coloring added to the cake had been less, as the dye flavor was very pronounced. I also wish there was more of a creamy, nuttiness with this cake, but overall very enjoyable and unique!

OVERALL:

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Qamaria Coffee and will definitely make the drive out there again. I enjoyed how vibrant and busy it was and it’s a great place to visit and take in the Yemeni culture of coffee, chai and sweets! The restaurant is open all day, but is especially active in the night, so I would highly recommend visiting on a late night weekend with some friends and family.
