APPLE SPICED CRISP

INGREDIENTS:
For The Apple Mixture:
- 5 Honeycrisp Apples or 5 Large Apples of your choice
- 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
- 1 Teaspoon Ginger Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Nutmeg
- 1 Teaspoon Sea Salt
- 3 Tablespoons Raw Honey
- Juice Of Half A Lemon
For The Oats:
- 1 Cup Rolled Oats
- 1 Cup All Purpose Unbleached Flour
- 3 Tablespoons Salted Butter
- 1/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/4 Baking Powder
- 1 Cup Brown Sugar
DIRECTIONS:
1.) Preheat the oven to 375 Degrees Fahrenheit.
2.) Melt the butter and 1 cup of brown sugar and mix until combined. In a separate bowl, mix the rolled oats, sugar, and flour. Add in the butter mixture to the rolled oats and stir until the mixture is incorporated. Once complete, place the bowl in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
3.) In the meantime, peel the Honeycrisp apples and dice them into large chunks. Once ready, place the apples into a pot. Add the vanilla extract, cinnamon, ginger powder, nutmeg, sea salt, raw honey, and lemon juice. Mix until combined. Allow the apples to simmer on low flame until softened or for 15 minutes.
4.) Pour the apple mixture into the desired baking pan of your choice.
5.) Add the crumble topping over the apple mixture until fully covered. Once ready, place the dessert into the oven and bake for 45 minutes or until the apple crisp has reached a golden brown color.
6.) Once ready, remove the apple crisp from the oven and allow it to cool for 15 minutes. Serve with vanilla bean ice cream and enjoy!
