BALSAMIC FIG FLATBREAD

This flatbread is full of the sweet and savory flavors of caramelized onions and fresh figs, peppery arugula, salty brie cheese, that’s topped on the flatbread of your choice. This flatbread is delish, light, and refreshing to eat or serve to your dinner guests as an appetizer!

INGREDIENTS:

  • Flatbread of Your Choice
  • 2 Red Onions
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Fresh Fig
  • Arugula
  • Brie Cheese
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Olive Oil
  • Balsamic Glaze

DIRECTIONS:

1.) Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.

2.) In a small pot, drizzle in a tablespoon of olive oil. Add in your diced red onions and cover the pot. Allow the pot to simmer on low flame for about 40 minutes. Remember to stir the pot frequently to help spread an even heat throughout the pot. Once complete, set aside.

3.) Brush your rectangular pan with olive oil. Then brush your flatbread with olive oil and sprinkle a generous amount of Italian herbs such as dried basil, oregano, and thyme.

4.) Add your caramelized onions on top of the flatbread. Then, add the sliced brie cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese you desire. I added a few Arugula leaves on the bread as well. Bake the flatbread for 10 minutes or until the cheese has fully melted. Once ready, remove from the oven.

5.) Top the flatbread with sliced figs and arugula. Drizzle the flatbread with balsamic glaze. Serve immediately and enjoy!
