TUNACADO PITA SANDWICH

The tunacado sandwich has gone viral and rightfully so! Here’s my take on making this refreshing tuna salad sandwich, but even better because its in a pita! Check out how you can make this high-protein sandwich that is packed full of flavor.
INGREDIENTS:
For the Tuna Salad:
- 1 Canned Tuna in Oil (High Quality Tuna if possible)
- 1 Large Avocado
- Salt to taste
- 1 Teaspoon of Black Pepper
- Juice of 1/2 Lemon
- 1 Teaspoon of Sugar
- 1 Teaspoon of Crushed Red Chili Flakes
- 1 Teaspoon of Mayonnaise
For the Pita Sandwich:
- Pita Bread
- Lettuce Leaf
- Heirloom Tomato
- Thinly Sliced Red Onion
- Black Olives
- Banana Peppers
- Sundried Tomatoes
- Persian Cucumber
DIRECTIONS:
1.) Lightly the pita sandwich in a pan with a drizzle of olive oil to your desired taste.
2.) Once Ready slice open the pita bread 1/4 of the bread horizontally, creating a pocket to add the rest of the ingredients in.
3.) Mash up one avocado and add to a bowl. Using the same bowl, add all the tuna salad ingredients and lightly mash until combined and you reach the desired texture you like. Taste and adjust for seasoning.
4.) Lightly dress the pita sandwich with mayonnaise.
5.) add in the tuna salad, and the sandwich toppings until it is full.
6.) Serve and enjoy!
